Christmas Festivities

Here are a few pictures of some of our Christmas festivities! Apparently I was having too much fun b/c I only took a few pics. The first 4 pics are from the weekend before Christmas. We went to Chicago and were able to make it to the family party which was at the Close's house! Great food and lots of fun!! We had a great trip including shopping downtown at the American Girl Store, visiting Uncle Nick & Jen's new condo and going up to the 96th floor of the John Hancock building! Christmas morning was a blast!! My mom was there as well as uncle Nick & Jen. Both girls were so into it this year which made it sooo much fun!! Abbie was a pro at opening gifts by the end of the morning. Christmas evening was a blast also! We went to Grammie & Grampies for more celebrations! It was sooo amazing to celebrate Christmas this year with my husband, my girls and BOTH of my parents!! I am so thankful!

Our trip on the Polar Express

For years I have heard about the Polar Express train ride and couldn't wait until my girls would be old enough for this adventure! This year we decided to take Andie and due to babysitting difficulties Abbie ended up coming also and I am soo glad that she did b/c she had a Blast, We ALL did!! The train ride was about 2 hours long to the "North Pole" and back. Each car had 4-5 elves and a conductor that made this trip so much fun! We sang Christmas carols, ate cookies and drank hot chocolate! One of the elves told the story of the Polar Express and then Santa stopped to talk to each child and give them their bell! It was so much fun and I can't wait until next year!

Preschool Christmas Program

The week before Christmas Andrea had her Preschool Chrismas Program! During the short show each child brought a gift (an empty box) to Jesus for his birthday. While the children were placing the gifts at Jesus's manger the teacher told the guests what each child chose to give to Jesus for a birthday present. Most children chose normal baby things like a rattle, a game or a puzzle...but Andie wanted to give Jesus a Polar Bear because they make her feel good. She is just too much sometimes!! After the gift giving the kids sang three adorable songs with hand motions including "Happy Birthday", "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Jingle Bells." Then we had cookies and punch and as you can see Andie wanted to have cookies with Heath rather than her own parents. (Heath grabbed a hold of Andie's hand and guided her to her seat for cookies...so sweet!)
