Feb 2010

This is a little late but two weeks ago Abbie had her 18 mo check up (at almost 20 mo.) She weighed 22# 11oz (25%) and was 32" long (50%.) Since we were a little behind on vaccines she had to have two scheduled shots then I chose to get her the flu shot as well. The poor little girl was so upset with me and Andie was so sad that she couldn't go "protect" her sister!

Great News.....The Janosik family has been "BINKY FREE" for 2 WEEKS now!!! If you know my girls well you know that this is a BIG deal!! It seems that the older my girls get the more attached they become to those little buggers! We are so glad to finally get those things out of the house! It has been terrific. (As I am writing this Andie brought me a "lost binky" with the biggest smile on her face EVER!!..sorry baby in the trash it goes!) In other news, Abbie "fell" out of her crib this past week, although I think it might have been a fluke b/c it hasn't happened since. We are Sooo not ready for her to be in a "big girl" bed yet. She is also trying to potty train herself..hahaha! I am not really putting much effort into the potty training at this point but usually at least 4-5 times a day Abbie takes off her diaper (herself) and sits on the potty. Sometimes she goes and sometimes she doesn't...Once again I am not in a hurry for her to grow up! :-)

Because of all the hair cutting that has been happening around here I haven't really been taking many pictures of the girls, but here are a few from the last few days.
See...can't keep clothes on her..or markers off of her! :-) Yep a "pixie cut" This is what she got after her last "self" haircut!

So Sweet!

Snow..Snow..Snow!!

Well as many of you know this week we had a HUGE snow storm here in Ohio! Here are a few pics I took (from inside!) I know to some of you (Marissa) this is not out of the ordinary but for us, almost 2 feet of snow in about 12 hours is ALOT!!! When I left for work at 6:00pm we had about 9 in on the ground..which at this point my road was impassable for anyone not in a truck or suv. At 2:00am one of my coworkers when outside to measure and we had 16 in. By the time I left work at 9:00am I had to dig my Journey out of about 2 ft of snow! After working 10hrs this was NOT fun! Right now most of the roads are still pretty bad, the kids haven't had school since Friday and guess what it's doing right now...IT'S SNOWING!!!

Andie's Chop Job!

Well, for the past couple of years I have had a problem with Andrea cutting her own hair. After the 1st time I put the scissors On Top of the fridge. After the 2nd time they went out into the garage. This time my very "resourceful" almost 4 yr old found a tiny pair of cuticle scissors to give her sister an Awful hair cut! I spent so much time teaching her NOT to cut her own hair that I didn't even think about telling her NOT to cut her sister's hair! For those of you that were wanting pics (against my better judgement) here they are. This happened a few days ago and after talking to a few people I think I am going to have to take her to get it fixed today. I am pretty sure that my sweet, little and beautiful 19 mo old daughter is going to have to get a buzz cut. :-(
Guess where this came from?!
Yep...Abbie's Head!

Check out the steps...AKA bald spots!

Christmas Festivities

Here are a few pictures of some of our Christmas festivities! Apparently I was having too much fun b/c I only took a few pics. The first 4 pics are from the weekend before Christmas. We went to Chicago and were able to make it to the family party which was at the Close's house! Great food and lots of fun!! We had a great trip including shopping downtown at the American Girl Store, visiting Uncle Nick & Jen's new condo and going up to the 96th floor of the John Hancock building! Christmas morning was a blast!! My mom was there as well as uncle Nick & Jen. Both girls were so into it this year which made it sooo much fun!! Abbie was a pro at opening gifts by the end of the morning. Christmas evening was a blast also! We went to Grammie & Grampies for more celebrations! It was sooo amazing to celebrate Christmas this year with my husband, my girls and BOTH of my parents!! I am so thankful!

Our trip on the Polar Express

For years I have heard about the Polar Express train ride and couldn't wait until my girls would be old enough for this adventure! This year we decided to take Andie and due to babysitting difficulties Abbie ended up coming also and I am soo glad that she did b/c she had a Blast, We ALL did!! The train ride was about 2 hours long to the "North Pole" and back. Each car had 4-5 elves and a conductor that made this trip so much fun! We sang Christmas carols, ate cookies and drank hot chocolate! One of the elves told the story of the Polar Express and then Santa stopped to talk to each child and give them their bell! It was so much fun and I can't wait until next year!
